According to police in Marin County, California, Oscar-winning actor and comedian Robin Williams has died at the age of 63.
Williams has starred in dozens of films over his decades-spanning comedic career, and won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role in “Good Will Hunting” in 1997. He most recently starred in the CBS sitcom, “The Crazy Ones.”
According to a press release issued by the Marin County Sheriff’s office, the coroner “suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia, but a comprehensive investigation must be completed before a final determination is made.”
His publicist released this statement: “Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.”
