Come celebrate music and the music of Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons with A Hot Summer’s Night Festival in Gull Lake on Aug. 23. The event, running from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., will celebrate the summer season, the music of the 50s and 60s and classic cars.
Everything kicks off at 5 p.m. with the show and shine. Vintage car owners from the area are encouraged to come on out and show off their amazing vehicles. No registration is required. The show and shine will be held on the centre island of Conrad Avenue, on the east side. The west side will be used for further show and shine parking if needed.
All show and shine participants are entitled to a free hamburger and Coke. For everyone else, it is only a Toonie for a Coke and hamburger.
Everyone is encouraged to dress up for the time period, so put on your Poodle Skirts, fedoras and vintage 60s outfits. Everyone who dresses up will receive a free large popcorn after 7:30 p.m.
The movie that night will be Jersey Boys, which is based off the award-winning musical of the same name. It tells the story of the formation, success and break-up of the iconic 60s rock group, The Four Seasons. The show begins at 8 p.m.
There will also be door prizes available to anyone who attends the movie. Winners will be able to pick up their prizes after the movie in the lobby of the Lyceum theatre.
If you are looking for some family fun on a summer Saturday, join us in celebrating the summer season, listen to some of the music of the 50s and 60s, check out some vintage cars, and watch iconic rise of The Four Seasons on the big screen.
